30 Weeks = 6 weeks to go!

I realize that 30+6 is only 36 but that's right in this case.  I am already scheduled to have a C-Section at 36 weeks.  Thank goodness that I get to miss out on the last month.  This kid is already over 3 lbs! He weighed in at 1 lb 9 oz at 24 weeks and at 28 weeks weighed in at 3 lbs.  That's double the weight! If that keeps happening this kid will be the biggest one I have and not even be full term.

It's a Boy!

Although we had had a DNA test done back at 11 weeks that told us the baby had chromosomal issues as well as that it was a boy, we had an ultrasound which confirmed the DNA results! There were no physical signs of abnormalities.  The doctors words were "Can't get better than perfect!".  There is also no issue with the placenta so there is no medical reason this little guy should come early.  Hopefully we will be meeting him on schedule - September 30!

Things are a-changin'!

So, it's been about 4 months since I posted last and thought it was about time to again.  Since my last post, we discovered that we are having another baby! And it's a boy! Couldn't get much cooler than that, huh? We've got a great doctor who is meticulous about knowing every detail and possible issue that could happen.  I've already undergone DNA testing as well as ultrasounds to determine whether there are any chromosomal issues that we need to be aware of.  So far, so good...the results have come back and there nothing that we need to be worried about.  Now we are in the wait and see as the weeks go by to see if there is going to be a recurrence of placenta previa.  It's a condition where the placenta attaches on top of the cervix which means a c-section delivery.  It is also a condition that when you've had it once it can repeat itself in subsequent pregnancies.  We won't know for a few more weeks if that's an issue but really that's the only possible problem at this point. Thank goodness for modern medicine and good doctors...

It's 2013! Let's review...

I've wanted to be a blogger and since it's a new year, I thought I would start fresh. We've had quite the year.

  • After a 7 year hiatus in the baby making business, Oakley joined our family January 30, 2012. He was 12 weeks early & a whopping 1 pound 12 ounces! He came home from the NICU on his 3 month birthday and it's been awesome.
  • Ernie celebrated his 1 year mark as bishop of the Lansing Ward
  • Eden went to girls camp for the first time.  I almost wasn't sure she was going to make it because she loves her mom so much but she did just fine.  Daisy was a 3rd year and Cheyenne a 5th year Youth Camp Leader.
  • Squeezed in a trip to Idaho to see the Stone side between Girls camp and Youth Conference.
  • Ernie went to Scout Camp.
  • Girls started school!!!! Kylen = 3rd grade at Donley Elementary; Ivy = 5th grade at Whitehills Elementary; Eden = 7th grade at MacDonald Middle; Daisy = 9th grade at East Lansing High and Cheyenne started the Early College at Lansing Community College.
  • I'm still taking classes at Lansing Community College
  • Ernie is still working on his Masters in Science Administration with a focus in Sports Administration at Central Michigan
  • Quiet Christmas at home
and last but not least....
  • my sister Lisa and her chitlin's came to visit! They were here for about 9 days. It was a loud and crazy 9 days but a fun 9 days. Shopping, hair coloring and dance chaperoning.
